contrary to popular belief, i am not currently changing my oil. stupid jiffy lube completely overtightened, and i can't even get the ridiculous bolt off, let alone the oil filter. stupid stupid mechanics who keep making me go pay to get an oil change when i'm perfectly capable of doing it myself WHEN everything is tightened the PROPER amount.

I'm not laughing as much right now... after getting back from a week-long nat'l parks roadtrip, we came home to discover the tube thingys that go from the bucket to the drip tape fell out at some point. the plants down near the bucket are just fine, but way too many have died of thirst. :( 3 okra pods that were about to be pickable size are no more, and even more okra plants are beyond hope. there are some happy squash plants, some of the collards will likely recover, one okra plant is just fine, a few more MIGHT live, and some of the green beans might make it. the eggplant is still poking along, but will not produce before we move, and the green pepper plants withered away.

SAD DAY!

My okra is fixin' to bloom! I have a big fat zucchini that needs picking, with more on the way. The cilantro has been usable for weeks, and is now blooming (I'll have to harvest some coriander!). I have blooming tepary beans. My collards are big enough to start picking and eating while leaving the plant alive. The bell pepper plants are looking lush. My eggplant plants are continuing to grow. The chives haven't changed much, but they're still alive!

I laugh in the face of rising food prices!

no, I haven't posted anything in a while. yes, I'm okay with that. It just means my life has been full of other things. I've been playing with my garden, traveling all over the country, and doing beadwork to sell. Speaking of, you should go here and vote for your favorite! I'm not going to tell you which is mine. You'll have to do your own research if you want to figure that out. :)

Here's what you get to decide between:

So go vote! And you can click on the links to each of these items (at the EBW blog), and find a number of fantastically made items.

Also, I'm updating more frequently about the above mentioned work at njemacreative.blogspot.com

Warning: that is NOT the place to go for ridiculous ginny-rants. that IS the place to go if you want to see what i've been doing creatively in the world of beads, and if you want to help spread the word to get people to buy stuff from me. :)
